Sony Xperia Z5 Lavender release date, specs, features, price: bezeless smartphone and design inspired by BRAVIA TV revealed in leaked pics
Following the recent release of the Xperia Z4, Sony now seems to be getting ready to unveil what could be the Xperia Z5, which seems to sport quite a different design from the Japanese company's previous smartphones.
Sony's next flagship smartphone, the Sony Xperia Z5, has been rumored to come with a new aesthetic design inspired by its recent BRAVIA television sets. According to earlier rumors, Sony plans to launch the Xperia Z5, along with the Xperia Z5 Ultra and the Xperia Z5 Compact smartphones. The Xperia Z5 and the Xperia Z5 Ultra are believed to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, while details of the Xperia Z5 Compact are unavailable. The Sony Xperia Z5 Ultra will reportedly ditch the flagship standard fingerprint scanning feature and instead use Qualcomm's Ultrasonic Sense ID, making it the first smartphone in the Xperia series to feature the technology. The Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Ultra will reportedly feature a Quad HD display for all regions. The Xperia Z5 will come with a 2K screen, 4 GB of RAM, a brand new camera sensor and software, though it is unlikely to feature OIS (optical image stabilization).
A new leak has surfaced online showing the image of the next flagship phone from the Japanese electronics giant, accompanied by a simple caption "Sony Lavender". The phone in the image has a super-narrow bezel, which lends it an expensive and high-end feel. The Xperia Z5 also has a front-facing LED flash, similar to the Xperia A4 announced by Sony recently.
Sony has been using the Omni-Balance design for its flagship devices for nearly five generations now, but this time, the Japanese company seems to have opted for a new design language for its Xperia Z5. In the leaked image, the front of the phone resembles Sony's recently announced LeTV smartphone, which packs pretty high-end specifications. Sony's new aesthetic design for the Xperia Z5 has reportedly been inspired by its recent BRAVIA television sets, and the handset sports a completely clean front end with a frosted glass effect.
Sony is rumored to launch the Xperia Z5 in Q4 2015, though some reports have suggested that the launch could be postponed to January 2016 if the upcoming Snapdragon 820 chipset is not available in time for the release of the Z5-series.
