Even as Sony continues to maintain an official silence about the details and release date of its flagship device, Sony Xperia Z4, more online leaks continue to surface. Sony fans had been expecting the Xperia Z4 to be launched at the recent Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015, but the company has instead chosen to maintain its annual upgrade cycle. The company is now likely to announce Xperia Z4 at the IFA show scheduled on Sept. 9 to 15 in Berlin.

There have been a slew of leaks showing purported official press renders and live images of the Xperia Z4. The latest leak shows the LCD front panel of the Xperia Z4 from different angles and also confirms its rumored display specifications.

According to the newly-leaked images of the Xperia Z4, Sony has maintained its signature OmniBalance design for the smartphone, along with its dust and water resistance capabilities. The display size at 5.2-inch is the same as that of its predecessor Xperia Z3, though its screen resolution seems to have been improved to Quad HD 2,560 x 1,440 pixels with 565 ppi pixel density.

The new images show a single port flap on the left side of the smartphone, which could house both the SIM card as well as microSD card slots. There is also a strange hole at the bottom of the device adjacent to the USB port, though its function remains a mystery. Similar to the previously leaked images of the Xperia Z4 front panel, the front-facing camera and proximity sensors are positioned differently as compared to the Xperia Z3.

Sony is expected to launch the Xperia Z4 in April with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, 3GB RAM, 32GB onboard storage, 20.7MP rear camera, 5MP front-facing camera, and Android 5.0 or 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
