Sony SmartWatch 3 vs. Huawei Watch: these steel-bodied smartwatches have similar specs but is there a winner?

Last year, the Sony SmartWatch 3 frequently made the list of the best looking smartwatches, but this year, the Huawei Watch has managed to overtake its rival. With the smartwatch race heating up, it is best to see how how these two devices compare.
Design
The Huawei Watch, first and foremost, comes with great design. Its round body made of stainless steel, gives it the look and feel of a traditional watch. It also comes in three different colors, silver, gold and black. As for its band, current indications point to having several two options: steel or leather. For those who do not like the default strap, however, can take comfort in the fact that it can be easily swapped out with a standard 18mm or 21mm band available in the market.
As for the Sony SmartWatch 3, it has a rectangular body also made of stainless steel and unlike the Huawei Watch, it only comes in one color, silver. However, the device has a variety of straps available including rubber, leather and steel. Unfortunately, they cannot be swapped out with standard straps.
In terms of water and dust proof rating, the Sony SmartWatch 3 has an IP68 rating which means it can be submerged in up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes while the Huawei Watch's rating remains unknown.
Display
The display on the Sony SmartWatch 3 is a 1.6 inch version with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels while the Huawei Watch has a 1.4 inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 400 X 400 pixels and a density of 286 pixels per inch.
Specs
There is a Quad ARM A7 CPU on the Sony SmartWatch 3 clocked at 1.2Ghz. Along with it is 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage. On the Huawei Watch is a Qualcomm CPU clocked at 1.2GHz along with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage.
Sensors
The Huawei Watch has a heart rate sensor, gyroscope, barometer and accelerometer while the Sony SmartWatch 3, although it does not have a heart rate sensor, comes with an accelerometer, compass, ambient light sensor and gyroscope.
Software
Both devices run on Android Wear.
Price
The Sony SmartWatch 3 costs $250 while the pricing of the Huawei Watch is yet to be announced.
