With the shocking death of Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) in the previous season of "Sleepy Hollow," the upcoming season of the said series will introduce some changes using a new formula and the introduction of new a Witness.

When "Sleepy Hollow" season 3 ended, many fans were shocked that the show killed off the Abbie Mills character of Beharie by letting her sacrifice herself in order to defeat the Hidden One and save humanity. The move to kill Abbie did not only shock the fans but also disappointed them. Some even swore to boycott the series' upcoming season.

However, "Sleepy Hollow" is bent on telling more of its story even without the presence of Abbie. In fact, according to reports, the show will even employ a new formula and usher new characters to make the show further engaging.

One of the changes that the still-loyal fans of the show can expect when it returns for its season 4 is that Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) will be moving from Sleepy Hollow to Washington DC. There, he will lead a secret organization created by George Washington, which has a mission of fighting the supernatural.

As he works for the said organization, Ichabod Crane will meet his new partner, Diana (Janina Gavankar), who will replace Abbie Mills as the new Witness. However, the partnership of Ichabod Crane and Diana will not be smooth-sailing as they will clash in more ways than one, all because of their different styles of handling tasks.

Eventually, though, it is said that the partnership of the two will improve, and they will begin to work harmoniously with each other after both of them experience the loss of a respective loved one.

Meanwhile, according to other sources, some fans can't help but point out that the upcoming season 4 of "Sleepy Hollow" seems to have some similarities with another series, "Lucifer," specifically Gavankar's character. Some fans opine that the description of Diana draws some similarities with that of Lucifer's love interest, Chloe Decker, as both characters are single mothers and have similar jobs.

"Sleepy Hollow" season 4 will air early in 2017.
