'Sister Wives' season 8 cancelled? rumors surface as renewal announcement is delayed
Fans of "Sister Wivess" are eagerly waiting for the renewal announcement of the show for season 8. While TLC continues to be silent about the show's fate, rumors and speculations about the cancellation arise.
The polygamous lifestyle of Kody has been the subject of criticisms among viewers. However, the show, "Sister Wives," which also features his multiple wives and their children, remains one of the most-viewed shows. The previous season has shown the Brown family at their most vulnerable and the events that occurred and the lack of update have led to rumors that the show is about to be canceled.
The previous season showed growing tension among the wives and rumors of jealousy among them made the rounds. While the series shows them vie for Kody's attention, however, a supposed family friend named Kendra revealed in an interview that Kody felt he lack of support and attention from them. Kendra said that as revenge to his wives, he plans to add two more wives to the show. His plan, however, does not sit well with the network and it could be the reason why they will no longer go on with the show. Another rumor suggests that Kody already has a hidden wife and her appearance might cause more drama on the show, which the producers are not happy about.
Rumors of cancellation are not new for "Sister Wives" as season 7 was also rumored not to happen before it was aired. For now, it is best for viewers to wait for official announcement from the network of the reality stars themselves.
Meanwhile, the Brown family continue to petition their case against Utah for banning plural marriage. The case started in 2012, but was denied. Fox13 reports the U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor gave the family until Sept. 10 to file a petition for review of their filed case.
Should the show be renewed for an eighth season, their journey to fighting their freedom to practice polygamy could be one of the focus of the season.
