'Sister Wives' season 6: wedding bells for Kody and Janelle Brown's daughter, Maddie

The latter part of 2014 and the first several months of 2015 have been trying for the Brown family to say the least. The "Sister Wives" stars, specifically Robyn and Meri, have to mull the decision of whether or not Meri should divorce Kody in order for Robyn to marry him. His marriage with Robyn would make it easier for Kody to adopt Robyn's children from a previous marriage.

Not only did the family have to go through a rather difficult ordeal, but they have to do it in the middle of an unwanted media spotlight. True enough, viewers of the show have been unmerciful with their comments on the decision of the Brown family, with most of them criticizing Robyn for her selfish and hurtful favor.

Meri has since released a statement defending her sister wife and condemning those who have said mean and ugly things about her.

Thankfully, it seems like the family is finally catching a break from all the drama and unpleasantness. Less than a week ago, on September 13, 2015, Maddie Brown, daughter of Kody and Janelle Brown, announced that she is engaged to her boyfriend, Caleb Brush. In her interview with People.com, Maddie revealed how her 28-year-old boyfriend popped the question.

"It was cold and we were huddled in jackets and I thought he was crazy to stop. He said to come look over here. So I walked with him to the edge. He told me he could never express how much he loved me, but he wanted to spend his life trying, and went down in one knee and pulled out a box."

Brush has since revealed that while they support Kody and his wives' choice to be in a polygamist marriage, he and Maddie do not plan to follow in the footsteps of her family. He said, "We are not living plural marriage. We support Maddie's family with their choice of living plural marriage and they support us with our choice in just marrying each other."
