'Shameless' season 8 rumors: Frank will die?

(Facebook/Shameless)Frank is expected to remain shameless in "Shameless" season 8.

Although "Shameless" season 8 is expected to arrive later this year or early 2018, there have already been a lot of rumors on how its story may possibly pan out. In fact, according to the latest unconfirmed reports, there is a possibility for the Gallagher children to hold another funeral following the death of their mother, Monica (Chloe Webb), as, allegedly, Frank (William H. Macy) may die in the upcoming season.

After culminating its season 7 with Monica's funeral, "Shameless" season 8 may feature another death in its story. According to reports, there is a possibility for Frank to die in the upcoming season of the Showtime series. As to how the character's death will be executed, though, no one can really tell for now.

However, it is possible that Frank will, indeed, "die" in "Shameless" season 8 in a figurative manner, though. After all, the Gallagher children's desire to press the restart button on their respective lives following the death of their mother, who, although they despised, they still respected at her funeral, is undeniable.

With their shameless father around, though, it is suspected that the Gallagher children cannot achieve the change that they want for themselves. Hence, it is likely for them to consider or treat Frank as someone dead so that they will not be pulled back to a miserable life. This can mean that they may not allow Frank to be father to them and possibly prohibit him from being a part of their existence.

To recall, "Shameless" season 7 finale featured Lip (Jeremy Allen White) expressing his desire to go back to college and Fiona (Emmy Rossum) purchasing a building for her real estate business. The previous season also had Debbie (Emma Kenney) starting her welding classes and Ian (Cameron Monaghan) focusing back to his work.

While his children are determined to start their respective lives anew, it is suspected that the same thing cannot be said about Frank. He may mourn the loss of Monica awhile, but it is said that it is likely for him to go back to his shameless ways eventually, much more that Monica left a stash of meth that he can sell and consume himself.

Hence, the Gallagher children might as well consider him dead.
