Samsung Smart TV latest news: Samsung showcases upgraded gaming service for Smart TVs at CES 2016
Samsung Electronics has announced that it will be updating the gaming service featured in its Smart TVs. The updated gaming service will be showcased during the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show, taking place in Las Vegas this week.
With the upgraded gaming service, Samsung Smart TV owners will be able to download more than 100 games and stream over 400 games. Given Samsung Smart TV's exceptional picture quality and large displays, users will be able to have a realistic and immersive gaming experience.
"Samsung's 2016 Smart TV lineup is a direct response to the expectation of consumers that their TVs should be more than just a device on which to watch content. The new Smart TV gaming service is just one feature of a TV that offers all-round entertainment. Our gaming offering will continue to expand, as Samsung partners with publishers of popular games," said Youngchan Kim, VP of Visual Display Business at Samsung.
Customers will be able to stream a wide variety of PlayStation Now games directly through their Samsung Smart TVs. Through the PlayStation Now service (available in the U.S. and Canada), users can stream popular game titles including "Assassin's Creed III," "Batman: Arkham Origins," "The LEGO Movie Videogame," "Mortal Kombat," "The Last of Us: Left Behind," among many others.
Users can also opt to use GameFly, a game streaming service available in 21 countries. GameFly will give users access to more than 100 games. Downloadable games include "Revolt3," "Deer Hunter," "Eternity Warriors 3," among others.
During the CES 2016, Samsung will also be unveiling the new Samsung Smart TV Smart Hub user interface and the new Smart Control remote. These two new enhancements showcase Samsung's dedication in providing its Smart TV customers with an all-round entertainment experience. Consumers can also look forward to the release of a groundbreaking new sound bar at the CES 2016.
