Samsung Galaxy Note 4 vs iPhone 6 Plus, Nexus 6: Specs and features comparison
After Apple and Google's time in the spotlight, Samsung will now try to regain momentum vs the comptetitors iPhone 6 Plus and Nexus 6 devices with the launch of the company's latest flagship smartphone – Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 specs features a 5.7-inch quad-HD Super AMOLED Display with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution, which is almost the same as Google Nexus 6.
The Nexus 6 is only slightly bigger with 5.9-inch RETINA HD display.
Apple iPhone 6 Plus, the bigger contender of the company's two models recently launched, sports a 5.5-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution.
The South Korean phone manufacturer could also win the hearts of the "selfie generation," with its 3.7 MP front-facing camera and 16 MP rear-facing camera.
Nexus 6 has a 2 MP secondary camera and a 13 MP primary camera.
While Apple is behind by half the megapixels of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4's rear camera, it can take pride in its iSight technology.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 powers both Galaxy Note 4 and Nexus 6, while iPhone 6 Plus runs on an A8 chip with a M8 motion co-processor.
Perhaps, the area where Samsung's flagship is lagging has something to do with OS.
Apple's iPhone 6 Plus currently runs the latest iOS 8, and boasts health integration app and Apple Pay.
Nexus 6, on the other hand, is the first handset to experience the upcoming Android 5.0 Lollipop update.
Galaxy Note 4 currenlty only runs Android 4.4 KitKat, and there is no word out yet when will the operating system be updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop.
The new Galaxy handset's design is also second-rate, looking a lot like its predecessor Galaxy Note 3.
Nexus 6 instead sports a clean and crisp look, while iPhone 6 Plus is as elegant as can be.
Samsung Electronics has just posted its first annual earnings drop since 2011, after several consecutive quarters earning losses.
"The world's smartphone leader has seen its global market share decline in annual terms for the past two quarters, according to Strategy Analytics, out-classed by Apple Inc's iPhones in the premium segment and undercut by Chinese rivals like Lenovo Group Ltd and Xiaomi Inc at the bottom end," Reuters reported.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 carries a lot of pressure to succeed, and it will be seen following its launch on Oct. 17.
