Ronda Rousey rumors: Former UFC women's champion agrees to 3-movie deal

(Reuters)Ronda Rousey is back.

Ronda Rousey may be on hiatus as far as her UFC career is concerned but the same doesn't hold true for her movie career. In fact, her Hollywood side of things seem to be moving compared to her cloudy MMA career, at least for now.

Deadline.com reports that the former UFC women's champion has come to an agreement with Lifetime Network to do a three-picture deal that focuses on empowerment. Her role will be more on developing and producing content, with her appearance currently a big question mark.

Aside from Rousey, the network will also be working with other popular personalities such as tennis star Serena Williams and singer Janet Jackson.

The development becomes another feather in her cap as far as Hollywood is concerned. Since rising to new heights mostly because of her success in the UFC, Rousey has starred in films such as "Entourage," "Expendables 3" and "Furious 7."

Right now, she is scheduled to appear on "Mile 22" opposite Mark Wahlberg and also a movie remake, "Road House."

As far as her UFC stint is concerned, the only update is that she is expected to return soon in the Octagon which could be the event that will be held for the first time in New York. She was among the present UFC personalities when mixed martial arts was legalized in the state.

Rousey was last seen at UFC 193 where she suffered a shocking loss to Holly Holm. It was her first UFC defeat, which also cost her the UFC women's bantamweight crown. Things just haven't been the same for Rousey ever since, seeing that the loss shook her up and seemingly showing she is still not mentally ready for a possible Octagon return.

Upon her return, Rousey will immediately be getting a shot at the title once more. Her opponent will depend on who is wearing the title at that time. Miesha Tate is the reigning champion for now but is set to defend her title against Amanda Nunes at UFC 200.
