'Rizzoli & Isles' season 7 premiere spoilers: Jane goes up against a brash postal inspector

Jane (Angie Harmon) will need every ounce of patience she can possibly get in dealing with a newcomer in the seventh and final season of "Rizzoli & Isles."

According to TV Line, Yvette Nicole Brown of "Talking Dead" and "Odd Couple," will soon be guest starring in the long-running TNT series. Hers is a character most likely to butt heads with Jane, as they are quite similar in temperament. The actress will reportedly play the role of U.S. Postal Inspector CJ Prescott, an ambitious woman who is overly passionate about her job. Her "brash and blustery" ways will not sit well with Jane, as they both have strong personalities in more ways than one.

Brown recently took to social media to confirm her stint in the upcoming season of the procedural. She told her fans via a Twitter post that she would soon be "visiting" the series and that she was thankful with the opportunity to work with the others. She also posted a link of the article exclusively announcing the news. Brown has been busy of late, guest starring in several series. Aside from "Rizzoli & Isles," she will also be seen in CBS' "The Young And The Restless."

Meanwhile, fans are still disappointed that their favorite series is finally capping off after several years of successful runs. Season 6 officially ended last March 15 and the whole cast and crew are now prepping for the series' final episode. Only 13 episodes will be shown for the last installment, a considerable cut from the usual 18 of the last two seasons. TNT president Kevin Reilly personally confirmed that news at the Television Critics Association winter press tour in Pasadena in January.

"This is the last year for Rizzoli & Isles. That's just the way it went down. [Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander] have had a really satisfying experience. I don't know that they wouldn't do anymore, but they felt very comfortable that it's had a good run. Everyone said, 'Let's go out and finish 13 great ones and call it a day," he said as per TV Line.

"Rizzoli & Isles" season 7 is expected to air this summer.
