'Rick and Morty' season 3 release date news: Release date for season 3 remains a mystery
"Rick and Morty" season 3 is definitely going to make it to the small screen. The question, however, is when. As of now, creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon have yet to set a date.
Little is known about the progress of the upcoming installment of "Rick and Morty," but as of Feb. 19, the show has started recording for the first episode of the show.
Fans are not too happy about Roiland and Harmon's keeping mum about season 3. Meanwhile, Adult Swim's fake season 3 trailer only made things worse.
Both the show's creators have been plagued with constant banters and demands from fans, who just want to know the release date of the forthcoming season of "Rick and Morty." And it seems like the pair have also learned how to fend off the unsolicited banters by poking fun at the issue.
On the official Twitter page of "Rick and Morty," they shared a post that jokes about the highly awaited third season of "Fargo." They wrote, "When the fk is Fargo season 3 coming out? Feels like we've been waiting forever." Meanwhile, Roiland joked on his Twitter account, sharing "When they find out it's never coming...yeesh. It's gonna get gnarly."
On a different note, at this year's SXSW Conference, "Game of Thrones" showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff shared that they, too, are fans of Roiland and Harmon's "Rick and Morty."
When asked about their plans after "Game of Thrones," Benioff expressed that they would like to make an episode of "Rick and Morty. He said, "Well, 'Rick and Morty,' but only if it was good. Apparently both creators believe that they are not funny enough to create an episode for the Adult Swim title. "We don't want to ruin 'Rick and Morty.' We're not funny enough."
"Rick and Morty" season 3 is expected to debut this year.
More updates should roll out soon.
