'Resident Evil 7' news: Game producer considers idea of bringing the game back to its horror roots
One of the most horrifying third person format games is "Resident Evil," which started with a trilogy set in Racoon City where the player fights the Nemesis. Capcom's latest release is "Resident Evil 6" and now, rumors are widespread about an upcoming sequel, "Resident Evil 7," which will reportedly go back to its horror roots.
Nseavoice has shared a few ideas about the rumored game. The site discussed how Capcom could bring back old horrifying characters such as Nemesis and William Birkins to "Resident Evil 7." This would bring back the horror in the game. The site continues, suggesting that the evil characters should just be surprise bosses to fight in the game.
Meanwhile, a Q&A report posted by Siliconera a few months ago has given gamers a few hints coming directly from "Resident Evil" game producer Masachika Kawata.
Kawata was asked of his opinion about the game losing its core genre, which is to bring horror to game players. The producer answered, "Since there's been more spin off titles, I can see how it can be perceived in such a way. And of course I believe that we should produce titles that bring out the horror. I'm thinking about it and also preparing for it."
Could this mean that Capcom really has plans to make "Resident Evil 7" as scary as it was before? When asked to give details about an HD version for "Resident Evil 7," Kawata did not offer any and just advised fans to stay tuned.
Capcom has not made any sort of announcement about the upcoming game, aside from the ones already made public. As of the moment, the reports are mostly speculations, rumors and opinions but these are still adding hype to the already hyped-up game. Fans will just have to take Kawata's advice to stay tuned for updates.
