'Red Dead Redemption 2' plot rumors: Game to be better than 'GTA V' - plot to be a prequel?
Gamers and fans are eagerly awaiting an official announcement coming from publisher Rockstar studios regarding "Red Dead Redemption 2," but reports say the game will be better than "GTA V."
Rumors and speculations are just filling up the Internet at the moment and this could also be the marketing that the developers needed to lessen the cost. Whatever the case, gamers and fans are looking for some information regarding this game. What is currently known is the rumored leak image of the map. Although it has been reportedly removed, some users in NeoGaf took a screenshot of the image and shared it anyway. What can be infered from the image is that it looks bigger and perhaps maybe better than the map of "GTA V."
Some rumors attribute the size of the map to be related to the content. This is why some gamers and fans consider the upcoming sequel to be better and bigger than their current game in the market. Furthermore, plot speculations are also surrounding the game. Some think that the story will not be a sequel but rather a prequel of John Marston's life. Some speculate the map isn't true because when a gamer looks closer, one of the areas is named New Bordeaux, which is a location in "Mafia 3."
This then divided the community into thinking that this might be the leaked map of "Mafia 3" and not of "Red Dead Redemption 2." The question now is: Is the game actually in development? According to PC Advisor, CEO of "Red Dead Redemption" developer Take-Two, Strauss Zelnick, mentioned back in 2014 that the game is likely to have a follow-up in the future.
"It seems quite obvious that 'Red Dead' is a permanent franchise. The risk of just [releasing more games] is that you end up just bulkin up your release schedule and that isn't really what consumers want. Consumers want better, not more."
This statement may be what gamers and fans can bank upon moving forward. Hopefully, the upcoming E3 would be the event that could potentially shed some light on this open-world game.
More "Red Dead Redemption" news and updates should arrive soon.
