'Prometheus 2' rumors and release date: Production said to begin this November
Circulating rumors regarding the sequel, "Prometheus 2," suggest that the production is set to begin this coming November while the initial shooting for the film will begin next year.
According to forum member, Big Dave's, post on "Prometheus" forum board via Movie News Guide, the movie's budget is going to be 50 percent highter than the previous film, which was somewhere around $120 million to $130 million.
Big Dave did also state that the production for the sequel is expected to begin this coming November. As for the initial shooting, the forum member also claimed that it will start next year, in March of 2016.
Additionally, the source pointed out that the release date of "Prometheus 2" is going to be six months after the premiere of the movie, "Alien 5." The fifth installment in the "Alien" franchise is expected to launch in theaters sometime between summer and fall of 2016 while the sequel for "Prometheus" will most likely land between spring and summer of 2017.
Sadly, Big Dave did not mention the specific date for the premiere of "Prometheus 2."
However, as for the casting, VC Post reported that Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender are expected to return to reprise their roles as Dr. Elizabeth Shaw and David, respectively, in the upcoming sequel.
The story, on the other hand, is rumored to revolve around the three core plots, said Movie News Guide. One of which, as mentioned on VC Post, will focus on Dr. Shaw and David's mission on finding the creator of the engineers and of course, the mysterious place called Paradise.
Since no official announcements from Fox have been made yet, it would be best to take these rumors and speculations with a pinch of salt for now and wait until the company releases the sequel's final details.
