Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire release date news: Mega Evolutions, early visit to Hoenn
A special demo version of the Hoenn region adventure that will be featured in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire has just been released ahead of the game's release date, including news of how mega evolutions will fit into the game adventure:
"During the course of this adventure, you'll be surprised to encounter familiar Pokémon that can now Mega Evolve! What's more, you can bring this Pokémon into your full Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire game," according to the official website.
The update continued, "You can even bring over the reward items that you obtained during your Special Demo Version adventure. Stay tuned for details on how to bring the Pokémon and items into your full game."
Players will have to combat Team Magma in Pokemon Omega Ruby, while Team Aqua is the antagonist for Pokemon Alpha Sapphire.
Team Magma will pursue Groudon, while Team Alpha goes after Kyogre.
According to the description on the game's website, "Team Magma is an organization that plots to increase the landmass on the planet, effectively adding to the area upon which humanity can labor to achieve even greater evolution and development."
The opposite is true for Team Aqua, who obviously wants to increase the coverage of the oceans.
Aside from Groudon and Krogre, another legend is expected to grace the Hoenn region – Rayquaza.
The character is portrayed as, "A Pokémon said to have lived in the ozone layer for hundreds of millions of years, it looks like a shooting star as it flies through the night sky. According to legend, when Groudon and Kyogre clash, Rayquaza descends to the planet's surface."
Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire has also introduced new mega evolutions, which can be achieved through constant caring and developing a deep bond with the Pokemon character.
Mega Camerupt changes its ability from Magma Armor/Solid Rock to Sheer Force, while Mega Sharpedo gains Strong Jaw ability following mega evolution.
Other Pokemon characters that can potentially mega evolve are Gallade, Slowbro, Audino, Altaria, Salamence, Lopunny, Metagross, Diancie and Sableye.
The scheduled Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sappire release date is Nov. 21, 2014.
