'Pokémon GO' tips: Where to find Pikachu, Porygon, Charmander, Horsea, Hitmonchan, Dratini, and Electabuzz

Avid "Pokémon GO" players may be stuck in a bit of a rough patch, especially since Niantic has removed the Nearby feature on the popular game. This means that it's all the more difficult to find certain types of Pokémon, specifically the rare ones. Here are some tips on how and where to catch Pokémon like Pikachu, Charmander, Horsea, Dratini, Snorlax, Hitmonchan, and Electabuzz, to name a few.
It is important to remember the type of Pokémon one wants to catch. Certain Pokémon have specific types they can fall under, which means they will be located in places where they are more likely to be associated with. For example, Horsea and Squirtle are both water-type Pokémon. This means that there is a higher chance of locating them near bodies of water. Try ponds, rivers, and even oceans to look for these two Pokémon. Dratini and Lapras, epic types, may also be located near water. These two are notoriously found near wet areas.
Other epic types like Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee are known for their physical capabilities like fighting. For this reason, it may be wise to look for them in areas where physical activities are exercised. Places like gyms, stadiums, and parks are good places to start.
Electabuzz and Magnemite are electric types. Players may find Electabuzz in places where there is a high volume of electricity like more urban areas. Magnemite, on the other hand, has to do with steel as well, so it could prove helpful to look for this Pokémon in more industrial places. Pikachu is also an electric type, so looking for it in areas with more electricity is also a useful tip.
As for Chansey, a Pokémon associated with healing, it would be good to look for the creature where health is apparent like hospitals and pharmacies.
For fire-type Pokémon like Charmander and Vulpix, players don't necessarily need to start a fire or look for one to find them. Areas with warmer climates or a generally hotter temperature will do the trick. Farmlands and cities are likely.
Snorlax and Porygon, however, are known to be mythical types, and have reportedly been spotted in random areas.
To catch legendary ones, it is advised that players use the PokeVision or install "Ingress," another Niantic game. For more information, click here.
