'Pokémon GO' legendary birds update: Zapdos, Moltres, and Articuno to be introduced?

(Pokemon GO website)Are legendary birds headed to "Pokemon GO?"

A few months after the release of "Pokémon GO," it turns out that there are still a lot of things to learn about the pocket monster world and there are still a lot of discoveries to be made.

In a recent talk with Recode Decode, Niantic Labs CEO John Hanke spoke about the development team's plans for the updates that will come with the hit mobile game in the near future. He was asked during the interview if new Pokémon would be introduced in the long run, and though he didn't directly address the issue, it should be remembered that he previously said new Pokémon will always be part of the purpose to keep the title fresh.

On the other hand, Hanke dropped a few hints about new content for the game. "It's been a busy two months, so we're now happy that we're kind of stabilized and able to start being a little more thoughtful about the next set of features that we want to build," he said.

Due to the revelation that the team is now coming up with new plans for "Pokémon GO," it is widely speculated that legendary Pokémon like Zapdos, Moltres, and Articuno will soon be introduced to the game.

Since Hanke seemed to dismiss the question about legendary birds during the interview, the speculations only got stronger, and fans are now looking forward to the appearance of the much-coveted legends. If the mentioned legendary birds do appear in "Pokémon GO" in the next expansions, players can expect more big reveals and potentially new systems that will help them track down the rare Pokémon.

Meanwhile, it is believed that with the hint on new features coming up for "Pokémon GO," the favored feature of trading Pokémon will also be integrated soon. Since 1996, the franchise has been integrating a system in its titles that allows players to trade Pokémon with their friends. If the said system will be applied for the prominent mobile game, there are now more chances for players to potentially have the Pokémon they want through trading.

"Pokémon GO" is playable in Android and iOS devices.
