Fans waiting for the next installation of the role-playing game "Persona" were met with disappointment when Atlus, the game's developer, announced that the game's release date had been pushed back. But to counter the complaints and bad feelings that were guaranteed to come its way, Altus revealed some key details for "Persona 5."

Initial reports had pegged the game to be released this year but Atlus announced that the release of "Persona 5" had been pushed back to mid-2016 during this year's Tokyo Game Show. After apologizing to the fans, game director Katsura Hashino explained that the delay was necessary for them to deliver a game of the highest quality.

However, fans have been given a taste of what to expect when "Shin Megami Tensei: Persona's" fifth installment is delivered. The game's official website has already released updates about the characters and their personas. Teasers have also been released online and the Japanese magazine "Famitsu" recently published cropped up images from the game and an interview with Hashino.

According to reports, "Persona 5" will still revolve around the idea of living out a year in the life of a teenaged boy who can summon Personas, the various aspects of his psyche. But this time around, the character and his Phantom Thieves will be more concerned on helping other people after an "unexpected event" led them to change their lives.

"Persona 5" will reportedly mimic the fast paced city of Shibuya. And as such, the look and feel of the game has also been altered accordingly, with tall buildings, more people and the dominance of the color red.

New gameplays will also be introduced in the upcoming game, such as the Cooperation feature which plays out like a new social link system. The "All-Out-Attack" helps the characters converge and attack downed players while the Sneak feature allows players to use stealth in various situations in the dungeon.

"Persona 5" is expected to be released in Japan in the summer of 2016, but there's no schedule yet on when it will reach the US. The game will be playable on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 consoles.
