'Percy Jackson 3' release date rumors: Logan Lerman willing to reprise role if another movie will be made
Although the last live-action film feature of "Percy Jackson" starring Logan Lerman was shown back in 2013, avid fans of the character are still clamoring for a third film installment featuring the demigod. If a third movie is made, fans may get even luckier as it is said that Lerman is willing to reprise his role.
It has been learned that fans of "Percy Jackson" cannot understand why a third movie is not possible as the already released films about the Modern-day Greek mythology did well at the box-office. "Percy Jackson and The Olympians: The Lightning Thief" raked in $226,497,209 as its worldwide gross, while the second movie, "Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters" made $199,850,315 globally.
Despite the impressive numbers that the movies delivered, Lerman already said in an interview with MTV back in 2014 that fans cannot expect a third "Percy Jackson" movie.
"It's been a great experience for me. It's opened up a lot of doors for me, but I don't think it's happening," Lorman said back then.
In spite of his earlier statement, though, it is said that Lerman has allegedly clarified that he didn't know whether there would be another "Percy Jackson" movie or not. In fact, according to reports, the actor even said that he would gladly breathe life to the teenage character once more should he be offered to do so.
Meanwhile, it has also been reported earlier that The CW is planning to do a live-action series about "Percy Jackson," and that the author of the books where the "Percy Jackson" movies were based, Rick Riordan," has even agreed to scribe the script for the TV adaptation of the story as he wants the series to be faithful to the events in his books. It is also said that The CW has allotted $12 million for the first season of the rumored show.
However, in the event that the reports are true, fans of Lerman may be disappointed as, allegedly, the network wants someone younger to breathe life to the character and start the series from its first-ever book.
Without any official word from The CW at this point in time, though, everything is nothing more than a speculation.
Is a "Percy Jackson" TV series in the pipeline?
Fans can only hope and wait.
