'Overwatch' release date set for May 24: what to expect
Blizzard is preparing to release its latest game, "Overwatch," and this is seen and teased through the giant statues of in-game characters that are placed all over the world.
Fans are able to see Tracer in Hollywood, California; Genji who was spotted in Centre Pompidu, Paris; and Pharah in Busan, South Korea. This is probably one of the biggest marketing campaigns made by the developer especially since the game has been reported to post huge numbers in their beta testing.
In related news, a Twitter user named Shane Hickey has tweeted a picture made by his daughter on a potential new character for the game and tagged the developers. The artists at "Overwatch" were delighted with this and responded by making the drawing into an actual character. From the looks of the image, some may speculate that this character may be a support-type hero in case they plan to implement her into the game.
@shanehickey Our artists were so inspired by this that they created their own fan art! Hope your daughter loves it! pic.twitter.com/c1ToeH1MJF

Gamers who are unfamiliar, "Overwatch" is a multiplayer shooter game that merges the team mechanic of "DOTA" with the fast-paced action of "Team Fortress." Each match divides the players into two teams of six where they will select a character that is categorized either as an offense, defense, tank, or support. The game features four modes that players can partake in. There is Assault where the attacker tries to capture objectives under a time period, while the Defender defends it. Escort, on the other hand, is a mode that lets a team escort an object to a specified destination, while the other team tries to stop it before the time runs out. Control lets both teams fight for a certain objective, and the team who controls the objective the longest wins the match. Finally, the last mode is Assault/Escort, which is basically the combination of the two modes mentioned earlier.
More "Overwatch" news, updates, and patch notes coming soon.
