Following the heart-breaking finale that saw Claire and Jamie part ways, fans are in for a whole new experience when "Outlander" season three arrives as Sam Heughan teased that there will be a lot of new things to see when the show returns.

As fans know, Jamie (Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) had to separate ways in the previous season and it was also revealed earlier that the two worlds will once again clash after a time jump of 20 years.

So what should fans expect after the star-crossed lovers meet again after being separated for two decades?

In an interview with Vulture, Heughan said, "It's going to be a completely different show. Next year's stuff is probably the most interesting, in a way. We've been setting it up, setting the stage, introducing these characters, and now it goes into new, different worlds."

This could only mean that viewers will get a good look at an older Claire and an older Jamie who may or may not be the same as they were back in the days. Fans should prepare themselves for whatever massive changes will be depicted in "Outlander" season three.

Aside from being torn apart by war, both Jamie and Claire will have had their own shares of life's struggles. Trials always change people and it would be interesting to see how their emotions will come in between them when they meet again for the first time in two decades.

For Jamie, who stayed behind to fight during the Battle of Culloden and later survived, there will definitely be a lot of changes, not just in his story but in his overall personality. People wounded emotionally by war will definitely transform. It's up to Claire as to how she will handle not just the new world she will get back into in search for Jamie, but the brand new person she will see in him.

The International Business Times adds that while small screens were able to get a glimpse of an older Claire, Jamie's aged appearance has yet to be depicted. Heughan may also be hinting on Jamie's possible depression when he teased: "It's less about his appearance, and more about who he is without Claire."
