Oppo A33 specs, release date, price: Oppo launches 5-inch entry-level smartphone with Snapdragon 410 CPU for $235
The Oppo A33 has finally made its official debut. The smartphone was first introduced to consumers after it made an appearance on China's certification agency TENAA last September. The smartphone is an entry-level device, but although technical specifications are nothing spectacular, the device looks premium and sleek.
The Oppo A33 features a 5-inch TFT display with a 960 x 540 pixel screen resolution and 220 ppi pixel density. The display is housed in a metal frame with glass panels on the front and the back. The entry-level smartphone is 142.7 mm tall, 71.7 mm wide, 7.55 mm thick and weighs 146 grams.
Oppo's new device is powered by a quad-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 processor, a Mali 400 graphics card and 2 GB of RAM. There is also 16 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128 GB via a microSD card.
It is equipped with an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash and autofocus. Users can also record HD videos (720p) with a frame rate of up to 30 frames per second. The 5 MP front-facing camera has beauty filters that can enhance selfies.
The smartphone is backed up by a 2400 mAh battery which can provide up to eight hours of talk time or 250 hours on standby. There is 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB 2.0 connectivity. Other features include an accelerometer and a proximity sensor.
Oppo's new product also has dual-SIM capability. It is preloaded with Oppo's ColorOS 2.1 which is based on the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. It is also offered in two colors – Black and White.
The Oppo A33 was released in home market China for RMB 1,499 which is about $235. It is expected to arrive in other markets in the coming months but Oppo has yet to announce which countries will be getting the newly released smartphone.
