OnePlus enthusiasts are currently confused about what the company is planning for their handset. Recent news claims that OnePlus 5 is on its way, putting OnePlus 4 in history. This is due to the fact that OnePlus 3 was given a significant update with the release of OnePlus 3T.

While the fate of OnePlus 4 remains to be a blur, fans believe that the device will only have a name change, ditching the number four. The particular number is considered as a bringer of bad luck, as far as those in China and several other East Asian countries are concerned, and this is said to be one of the reasons why OnePlus 4 will instead be called OnePlus 5.

Several reports claim that OnePlus 5 looks like Samsung's S7 Edge, but it sports a ceramic body that Xiaomi Mi Mix has already featured. Under the hood, the smartphone is said to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with 8 GB of RAM and 256 of internal memory.

One of the most notable features of OnePlus 5 is its alleged 23-megapixel rear camera, alongside a 16-megapixel front shooter. All of these are supplied with enough power since it is believed to be packed with 4,000mAH battery. The handset may also come with a USB Type-C port.

The release date of OnePlus 5 is still unconfirmed, but since it is expected to arrive in the third quarter of 2017, it is assumed to already be running on Android 7.0 Nougat.

One Plus has yet to confirm the rumors, so the information presented should be taken with a grain of salt.

In other news, OnePlus has just released the OxygenOS 4.0.3 update for both OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. The update has several improvements, but the most significant improvement is the addition of the Smart Wi-Fi Switcher, which allows the owners to easily switch to data connection if Wi-Fi is unreliable.
