Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle) will try to save his son on the next episode of "Once Upon a Time" season 6.

The synopsis for the upcoming episode called "Ill-Boding Patterns" reveals Gideon (Giles Matthey) will continue his quest to kill Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and assume the role of the Savior in Storybrooke. But his father Mr. Gold will try to warn him against the use of dark magic to achieve his goals, since it could possibly have a poisonous effect on him.

Executive producer Edward Kitsis explained why Gold would exert all efforts to stop his son from being on the dark side even if he is known as the Dark One for the longest time.

"Does Rumple really want what's best for Gideon? Wouldn't his life be a lot easier to have a child who wants to be a gangster like him?" Kitsis said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. "Episode 13 is really going to show you what's in Rumple's heart, and what kind of father he is or wants to be."

But despite his pleas to stop Gideon from killing Emma, the trailer reveals that Gold's alter ego Rumplestiltskin will once again face the legendary character Beowulf (Torstein Bjørklund) in Fairy Tale Land.

According to Kitsis, this encounter will open up some unexpected revelations about Rumple's connection with Bae (Brandon Spink). The executive producer said that the upcoming episode will talk about what happened between Rumple and Baelfire during the ancient days that was not discussed yet on the show.

Meanwhile, the synopsis also reveals that Emma and Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) will face problems in the upcoming episode after she learns that he is keeping a major secret from her. Robin (Sean Maguire) is willing to forge an alliance with anyone who can help him escape Regina (Lana Parilla) and Storybrooke.

The next episode of "Once Upon a Time" season 6 will air on ABC on Sunday, March 19, at 8 p.m. EDT.
