'Once Upon a Time' season 6 spoilers: Changes coming

(Facebook/OnceABC)"Once Upon a Time" season 6 premieres on Sept. 25.

"Once Upon a Time" season 6 will see some changes in terms of the setup, character directions, and new faces. With the premiere of the upcoming season slowly approaching, more and more details have been slowly trickling in.

Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, fans now know that season 6 will not take on the same arrangement adopted in previous seasons. Plotlines will be told and closed in different ways, because according to executive producer Edward Kitsis, "As always with this show, once the audience gets onto what we're doing, we have to change it."

Season 5 saw Regina's personas being split into two. There's the more compassionate Regina and then there's the Evil Queen Regina, both played by the talented Lana Parrilla. Season 6 will see this not-so-new villain potentially being set free, which can only mean horrible things for the land of Storybrooke and its citizens. Of course, the story will also explore more of Regina's character development.

"Can you really eliminate the darkness inside you?" Kitsis asks. "Is that really the best way? Those are the things we're really looking forward to exploring this season."

Additionally, like Regina's own journey with the Evil Queen, season 6 will see similar plotlines for other characters as well. "The intent is that these new characters and new stories are really a reflection of what's going on inside of our characters," executive producer Adam Horowitz revealed in an EW Spoiler Room article.

Apart from that, season 6 will also see the Land of Untold Stories have an effect on the people of Storybrooke, especially with Hyde's (Sam Witwer) onset. Hyde's appearance will have an impression on the characters and the new season will delve into that further.

Fans can also look forward to new characters when season 6 returns, as TVLine reports that the drama is in the market for actors to play the roles of Sinbad and Scheherazade.

"Once Upon a Time" season 6 is scheduled to premiere on Sept. 25 on ABC.
