'No Man's Sky' updates: Rumors point to problems on PS4
"No Man's Sky," the game that spans over 18 quintillion planets, has been developed since 2013 as a PlayStation 4 and PC offering and recently, during the Sony's press conference that took place in Paris Games Week, another trailer for it was released. Also, news was released that the game would be arriving next year in June. While this was welcomed by many, since then, rumors have emerged that the game has run into technical problems.
Reporting on the problems that the game is facing, Laura Kate Dale of Destructoid UK went on to an episode of Podquisition to state that sources had informed her of several technical issues. These issues importantly kept the game from being demonstrated at an event in the UK recently.
Also there are rumors that when a demo of the game was recently shown for the press it was running on a PC not a PS4. This left many assuming that the game was having problems running on the console. Especially during E3 the game was demonstrated on a PC while the player used a DualShock 4 controller.
As soon as the news about the technical problems pertaining to "No Man's Sky" surfaced many were quick to point out that the game was a huge procedurally generated offering and so some issues were bound to crop up. Games usually go through a process of optimization for each platform and during this some issues are expected, so it is clear that the "No Man's Sky" is like other offerings in this aspect.
However, GamingBolt states that the PC version of the game was also experiencing problems, but it was not so severe like the PS4 version and so the demonstration on the PC went ahead. As for whether "No Man's Sky" would be released this year, just before the Sony press conference there was a bit of buzz that it would finally arrive, but it was soon shut down by developer Hello Games.
