The 2015 Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is fast approaching, and Apple fans are expecting an announcement about the rumored all-new Apple TV box. Fans have been wondering why Apple is taking so long to update the Apple TV, with the last significant update made three years ago in 2012. Hopefully, the company will shed some light on all the rumors circulating online about the new Apple TV at the Apple WWDC keynote on June 8.

The most exciting rumor about the new Apple TV is a possible TV streaming service that delivers Live TV for a monthly fee. In an article by Macworld, the streaming service will reportedly bundle around 20–30 channels and could include TV companies such as CBS, ABC and Fox, all of which are said to already be in discussion with Apple. The Wall Street Journal also reports that the streaming service may not arrive until this fall and could cost up to $40 per month.

With its upgraded hardware, the new Apple TV, powered by an Apple A8 processor, could deliver 4K resolution. However, other reports claim that the new box will not support 4K streaming, mainly due to the lack of 4K content and the cost associated with streaming 4K media. The new Apple TV could also feature a new remote control with a touchpad, motion control for gestures, Siri and its own App Store.

If announced on June 8, the new Apple TV streaming service could launch in the fall along with the Apple TV box, according to CNET. The report claims that it is also possible that Apple could put the new box on sale immediately after the WWDC announcement.

As for the price of the new box, given the price of the current Apple TV box recently being dropped to $69, CNET believes that the initial price of the all-new Apple Box will be close to $99 to best compete with the Roku 3, Amazon Fire TV and Google Nexus Player.
