'NCIS: LA' season 8 spoilers: Kensi's first priority is her career

(Facebook/NCISLA)Kensi is not ready for motherhood in "NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8.

Kensi (Daniela Ruah) may say "yes" to Deeks' (Eric Christian Olsen) marriage proposal, but that does not mean she wants to have children soon in the upcoming season of "NCIS: Los Angeles."

"Densi" fans have been over the moon with the turn of events concerning their favorite couple. Last season, Deeks started talking about marriage to Kensi. This is a huge step in their relationship, considering how much they hemmed and hawed about the affair in the past. The new installment is expected to discuss this storyline, where Deeks will formally ask his girlfriend to marry him.

Executive producer Scott Gemmill told TV Guide, however, that they do not have immediate pregnancy plans for the couple.

Gemmill replaces Shane Brennan as the new showrunner for the CBS series. According to him, both Deeks and Kensi are not in a hurry to have kids. At the moment, their priority is still their jobs. Kensi, in particular, will have a tough time if she becomes pregnant. Their tasks as NCIS agents are no joke. If she becomes pregnant, she will have to take a leave of absence or be delegated to a desk job.

Gemmill also said the couple does not want the baby to grow up in such a dangerous situation.

"That's a real conversation that has to be had, and possibly more than once. I think it's one thing to say it now, but it's another thing as time goes on and situations change. Once they are officially engaged, then I think that conversation will come back again. And it's tricky, because neither one of them wants to give up their career, and can you have two parents in life-and-death situations on a daily basis? Is that proper parenting, or is that negligence in some way?" he told TV Guide.

Meanwhile, executive producer John Peter Kousakis recently updated his Twitter account, stating that production is already underway for season 8. He wrote that everyone is "revving up" for the new challenge and that fans would be very happy with the new episodes.

"NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8 will premiere on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
