'Nashville' season 5 spoilers; Juliette Barnes to be killed off?
"Nashville" fans have had to endure a roller coaster ride of emotions when the series was canceled by ABC, following the season 4 finale and subsequently picked up for a fifth installment by CMT and Hulu. Now, emotions will be stirred up once again as reports have it that a premiere date has been announced for season 5.
According to TVLine, series creator Callie Khouri and actor Charles Esten appeared at a Grand Ole Opry concert and revealed that the fifth season will be released sometime in December. However, neither CMT nor Hulu has confirmed these notions. The publication contacted CMT and a spokesperson told them that season 5 does not have a premiere date as of yet.
But will season 5 wrap up the story once and for all? According to Esten, who plays Deacon Claybourne on the show, it's likely that season 5 won't be the last. While speaking to Digital Spy, the actor said that he believes there could be more to look forward to.
"I don't think that's what they have in mind. I think a lot of it will play out with how it goes, and how it looks, and how it's accepted. Again, in every single season of this show it came down to the end of the season to find if there was another one," Esten explained. "My friend Clare Bowen would say, 'We'll be back again'. I like to think she might be right."
As for what the new season will bring, there have been speculations that one of its lead characters, Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere), may be killed off. The previous season saw her boarding a plane headed to Avery Barkley (Jonathan Jackson). But it was revealed that the plane had mysteriously vanished. Rumor now has it that Juliette may have died in a plane crash and that Rayna James (Connie Britton) would become the sole lead of the series.
Since it is just a rumor, though, fans should take it with a grain of salt.
