The next two episodes of "Naruto Shippuden" might seem like a filler episode, but it's an important one as the Hokages learn about Ninshu and about the brothers Ashura and Indra.

The previous episodes showed how formidable Kaguya is and also delved into her backstory, providing information that was not revealed in the manga.

The Itachi Arc showed Naruto and Sasuke engaged in a combat with Kaguya, the original source of all chakras. While the two put up a good fight, they were no match to Kaguya, as she transported Naruto and the other ninjas to an ice world, while Sasuke was sent to another dimension. The previous episode also revealed Kaguya's origins, how she arrived on Earth to how her sons, Hagoromo and Hamura, trapped her on the moon.

The series will take a brief break from the fighting to focus on more backstories, with "Naruto Shippuden" episode 464, "Ninshu," focusing on the origin of the religion. It is said that Hagoromo himself would appear before the four Hokages of the leaf village and relay the news that Naruto and Sasuke are currently fighting Kaguya. He will then explain to them everything that had happened before, how Ninshu, the Ninja Creed, was founded and later misconstrued by his successors. This confusion ultimately led to the rise of ninjitsu, a weaponized version of the peaceful religion.

Meanwhile, episode 465 will tell the tale of Ashura and Indra, Hagoromo's sons. It appears that Hagoromo picked his son Indra to be his successor, a decision that might have led to the brothers' bitter rivalry.

The upcoming episode might finally reveal Ashura and Indra to fans as well. The two legendary shinobis are said to be the ancestors of the Senju and Uchiha clans. While they have been mentioned before, they have never appeared in any storyline. Episode 46 might finally change that.
