'Mortal Kombat X' DLC Pack 2 release date: New content rumored to land in first half of 2016
There have been a lot of buzz surrounding the next downloadable content for "Mortal Kombat X," despite previous rumors that "Kombat Pack 1" will be last of its additional content. After a slight hint from the developer on Twitter a few months ago, it seems that "Mortal Kombat X - Kombat Pack 2" will drop early 2016.
"Mortal Kombat X" had a pretty exciting additional content with "Kombat Pack 1." And even if it was previously announced that there will no longer be any further DLCs in the future, a livestream of the said game sparked rumors of a "Kombat Pack 2." The livestream ended with a very telling statement about the end of "Kombat Pack 1." Why not just "Mortal Kombat X," right? Shortly after, some tweets from game creator Ed Boon strengthened rumors of "Kombat Pack 2."
Now, "Mortal Kombat X - Kombat Pack 2" is no longer a rumor, with confirmation from Boon himself that the DLC is indeed on its way. No exact date had been pinned yet for the new DLC but Yibada says developer NetherRealm Studios had confirmed it for the first half of 2016. This, of course, everybody has to take with a grain of salt, given no link to the actual statement from developers had been quoted. Also, given the nature of video games, there might still be a few delays in the game. One thing is sure though: "Kombat Pack 2" is really on its way and possibly dropping some time in 2016.
Boon had been very generous with teases on his Twitter account. This has sparked even more talks regarding the upcoming content. After a tweet of his showing a silhouette of four possible additional characters threw fans into a guessing game frenzy, he immediately joined in on the fun and dropped hints as to who these four characters will NOT be.
More news on the matter to be posted soon as they become available. Stay tuned for more "Mortal Kombat X - Kombat Pack 2."
