Minnesota Timberwolves trade rumors 2016: Kris Dunn to be part of four-player swap with Sixers?
When the Minnesota Timberwolves selected point guard Kris Dunn with the no. 5 pick in this year's draft, a lot of people thought Ricky Rubio's time with them was over. Now it seems the rookie will be the one leaving before the season begins.
NBA Trade Rumors proposed a swap between the Wolves and Philadelphia 76ers. In the exchange, Dunn and not Rubio is going to be dealt. He will be joined by Shabazz Muhammad as they head to the City of Brotherly Love.
In return, the Wolves are acquiring Nerlens Noel and Dario Šarić from the 76ers.
This seems fair for the squads involved since they will both receive and deal away a rookie together with a guy who already has a few seasons of experience.
Noel would be a massive boost for the Wolves, specifically in their front line. The 22-year-old will play alongside the likes of Rookie of the Year Karl-Anthony Towns, Gorgui Dieng, and Jordan Hill.
Using Noel at the same time with Towns is a dangerous scheme for Minnesota's opponents. Towns can almost do it all and is a prolific scorer, while Noel is a defensive beast who has an improving offense and quick hands to go for a steal.
Besides from Noel, the suggested trade also gets the Wolves Šarić, who fans are waiting to see play in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Croatian has already made a name for himself overseas and while representing his motherland in international tourneys. Now it is time for him to establish his game in the league.
The potential addition of Noel and Šarić makes the Wolves, who are already a young team, a whole lot younger. For some, this might be a negative because they lack experienced players to guide and lead them. But in the future, this could be beneficial since these youngsters will develop, and once that happens, it will be a talent-stacked squad.
