Washington-based Microsoft is still mum about the release of the next generation Microsoft Surface Pro 5, not to mention other projects like the Surface Book 2 and the Microsoft Surface phone.

There are speculations that these devices will be unveiled early 2017, probably around March or the second quarter of the said year since these would be the timelines where chipset manufacturer Intel will be launching its latest processor known as the Kaby Lake.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 was supposed to be released late this year, but rumor has it that it was bumped further to 2017 which is just in time for Windows 10 to be upgraded to Redstone 2 and the mentioned release of Intel's processor.

However, come August, Windows 10 will be celebrating its anniversary and what better way to celebrate it than to dish out an update, along with an announcement of a new device that will still be under the Surface series which most Surface users speculate will be the all-in-one PC that Microsoft has been talking about.

Having said this, it seems that Microsoft fans still have something to look forward to this year other than the forthcoming Windows 10 update. Moreover, the yet-to-be-unveiled Surface AIO will most likely be introduced sometime between the months of August and September, right after the release of the mentioned update for Windows 10. In addition, the AIO PC from Microsoft is said to go head on against the current leaders of the AIO market, namely Apple's iMac, plus Lenovo from China with its 900 series of AIO PCs.

Furthermore, it seems that Microsoft is unfazed with the barrage of new devices that its rivals will be dishing out later in the year. They are pretty confident that they will best it out against the competition in the ultraportable device market.
