Michael Schumacher health update: Racing legend showing signs of improvement, says former coach

(REUTERS/ALESSANDRO BIANCHI)Michael Schumacher is reportedly showing signs of improvement, says his former coach.

Almost three years after figuring in a horrific skiing accident that almost claimed his life, the latest in the rumor mill is that Formula 1 racing legend Michael Schumacher is on his way to recovery as, reportedly, his health condition is improving.

It was no less than Schumacher's former coach Ross Brawn who dropped the clues on the racing legend's improving health condition. Brawn has said in his recent interview that, despite some people suspecting that Schumacher's health is not improving, the reality is actually the opposite of the reports.

"There are encouraging signs and we are all praying every day that we see more of them... All I would say is there is a lot of speculation about Michael's condition, most it's wrong and we just pray and hope every day that we continue to see some progress. We hope to see him out and about and recovered from his terrible injuries," Brawn said in a recent interview with BBC Radio 5 Live.

Brawn has coached Schumacher in all of his world titles.

Meanwhile, it is also suspected that Schumacher's treatment is already taking a toll on his family's finances. Reportedly, the legend's medical bills averaged £115k at a certain time and has now reached a total amount of £12million.

Because of this, it is said that the racer's family is now raising funds to continue supporting his treatment and medications. In fact, it was even rumored in the past that the family auctioned Schumacher's Mercedes E55 AMG for a price of £516,524 for his treatment.

However, despite the alleged financial troubles of the family, it can be said that it may all be worth it, much more if what Brawn has revealed on the status of the racing legend's health is true.

Schumacher was induced into a comatose following a skiing accident in France in December 2013. Six months later, he was brought home where he continues his recovery to this very day.

The family has decided not to release any official statement on his health condition as they want to maintain the racer's privacy, according to Sabine Kehm, Schumacher's manager.
