Many players may be excited for the release of "Mafia III" on other platforms, but the game will also have a version for iOS and Android smartphones titled "Mafia III: Rivals." However, the mobile version will have an RPG-type gameplay rather than the open world third-person play offered in the original game.

It has been announced recently that "Mafia III: Rivals" will be released soon for mobile devices, and the game will also be set in New Orleans. The title will have a different take on the franchise, but it will still feature the characters, events and locations from "Mafia III" that Hangar 13 developed.

The mobile game is developed by Cat Daddy Games, who was also responsible for the puzzle and strategy game titled "Evolve: Hunters Quest" and its companion app. The company has already worked with 2K games before as it developed the mobile versions of "NBA 2K" and "WWE 2K."

The mobile app of the game will also be challenging since players will get to build their own criminal empire. This can be achieved by seizing properties and also by looting weapons and vehicles. The competition to be the crime lord is tight as well since there are over 40 crime bosses who players would have to deal with in the "Mafia III" universe.

The upcoming mobile game will involve thinking up more strategies in order to achieve the assigned objectives and it will be different from its predecessor "Mafia II Mobile" which was more of a shooting game. Furthermore, players can now pre-register on the game's website in order to receive bonuses once the title has been released.
