Macbook Air 2016 release date and specs rumors: slim device has a more powerful processor
The circulating rumors about Apple's next laptop computer, the Macbook Air 2016, are firing up and rumors suggest that the new device could even have the potential to tackle Microsoft's Surface Pro 4.
According to Christian Today, the Macbook Air 2016 is reported to have a slim design and packs more power than its predecessor. It will come with the upcoming Intel Core M-based Skylake processor that will replace the previous chip model called Broadwell.
This new type of processor will considerably boost the speed of the Macbook Air 2016 and will undoubtedly be more superior to the Macbook Air 2015 model.
The design on the other hand, as Breathecast speculated, will also share some similarities with the current model of Apple's notebook. It will also be thin, although it will come with a much higher definition Retina display. It is expected that it will also have two variations: the 13-inch and the 15-inch Macbook Air 2016. Wireless Charging feature is also a possibility in the next model since the Skylake processor is expected to be introduced to the Macbook Air 2016, as mentioned by Latino Post.
The release date however remains a mystery; especially if the rumor about using the Skylake processor is accurate. According to PC World's report last February, the new Intel processor is set to be released by the end of this year, so a 2015 release date for the Macbook Air 2016 is highly unlikely. Despite that, Master Herald expects that the official announcement will be made on October 2015 and the launch will happen early next year, possibly by March.
If all these speculations turn out to be true, the next Macbook Air model will have all the features necessary not only to match Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 laptop but also to potentially dominate the market.
