LG G5 vs Vivo Xplay 5 Elite: Powerful Xplay 5 Elite provides stiff competition to the LG G5

This year has seen several good smartphones arriving in the market, and one of these undoubtedly is the LG G5 which has a modular design. However, another smartphone which has been capturing attention is the Vivo Xplay 5 Elite which has 6 GB RAM onboard and this is how these two devices compare.

Design

When it comes to materials, these smartphones each have a metal body and so they are similar. However, the body on the LG G5 has no antenna lines at the back while the Xplay 5 Elite has them. The fingerprint scanners for both these devices are positioned at their rear panels but this is where their similarities end. In fact, the modular design of the LG G5 gives it an edge above the competition and there are two modules which can fixed into the magic slot at the bottom of the smartphone. One of these modules comes with an extra battery and camera controls and another comes with a Hi Fi audio player.

In terms of colors, the LG G5 comes in gold, silver, titan and pink, while the device from Vivo comes in gold, silver and rose gold. The standout feature of the Xplay 5 Elite is its curved screen which gives the device a cool look and is guaranteed to capture eyeballs.

Display

There is an Always On display on the LG G5 and it is an IPS LCD version measuring 5.3 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 554 pixels per inch. As for the Xplay 5 Elite, it has a Super AMOLED display measuring 5.43 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 541 pixels per inch.

Hardware

In terms of hardware, these two devices are similar as each has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset onboard and it is coupled with a quad-core CPU and an Adreno 530 GPU. However, there is a version of the LG G5 which comes with a Snapdragon 652 chipset.

Memory

With no memory slot on the Xplay 5 Elite, there is no chance of external storage being tacked on while the LG G5 supports up to 200 GB. In terms of RAM, the LG G5 has 4 GB onboard and the device from Vivo has a huge 6 GB version.

Camera

There are two cameras on the rear of the LG G5 one is a 16 megapixel version and another is an 8 megapixel version, and these allow for wide angle photographs to be taken. As for the Xplay 5 Elite, it has a 16 megapixel shooter at its rear.

Price

Unlocked, the Vivo Xplay 5 Elite costs $655 while the LG G5 is expected to cost around $300 with a two-year contract.
