With the release of LG's curved phone, the LG G Flex, LG users can't help but compare it with the latest LG G3. So far, the LG Flex 2 overshadows the LG G3.

The new LG G Flex 2, released at the CES 2015, seems promising with a very flexible back cover. Even though it is not made of metal, the outside feel to it is metallic. It is offered in two colors, Flamenco Red and Silver. Riding the wave of powerful hardware, the LG Flex 2 has a Snapdragon 810 processor at 2.0GHz, octa-core and has a 64-bit chip Android Lollipop OS, while G3 runs on an older 32-bit Snapdragon 801.

The LG G3 was initially shipped with an Android 4.4 Kitkat but the new update is already rolling out in a few countries.

The interface is very much the same with simple icons and muted colors. But, the LG Flex 2 boasts of a Plastic OLED panel which features more vibrant color contrasts. LG Flex 2 also introduced new features like the "Glance" that allows the user to take automatic selfies by using a hand gesture.

However, the two devices offers a 16GB or 32GB memory and can be expanded through a microSD. They also have the same camera capabilities of 13MP rear camera and 2.1MP front cam. However, the LG G3 is lighter with 149 grams while the LG Flex 2 is 152 grams.

LG Flex 2 is considered to be an improvement from its predecessor, the LG Flex since the LG Flex is 6-inches and Flex 2 is only 5.5 inches. The smaller screen makes it more accessible to the users.

During the CES launch, LG mobile architect Ramchan Woo defends some criticism as to why they keep on creating curved products. He said: "Our biggest and simplest answer is it's more beautiful."
