DROID Turbo 2 vs LG G Flex 2 specs comparison: device from Motorola takes the lead

Since the concept phone from LG, the G Flex 2 was released this year it has been continually challenged by a number of other unique devices like the DROID Turbo 2. To see how the device from Motorola with the shatterproof screen compares against the curved G Flex 2 read on.

Design

The DROID Turbo 2 does not have a premium look to it even though it has a metal frame. However, it is easily customizable as users can go onto the Moto Maker website and choose different colored metal accents, metal frames and back panels made from leather and ballistic nylon. However, it does not have a fingerprint scanner and the same goes for the LG G Flex 2. As for the device from LG it has a curved body and screen and is made entirely of plastic, but is back panel has a coating that automatically self heals small scratches. As for colors, there are two options: silver and red.

Display

When it comes to display quality the Turbo 2 has an edge, as it has an AMOLED version measuring 5.4 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and density of 540 pixels per inch. Additionally, its display has ShatterShield technology and does not crack when dropped. On the G Flex 2 is a curved P-OLED display measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and density of 403 pixels per inch.

Specs

Here both these smartphones are similar as each has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset on board and it coupled with an octa-core CPU comprised of four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2 GHz and an Adreno 430 GPU.

Memory

The LG G Flex 2 has a memory slot and it can support up to 128 GB of external storage while the slot on the DROID Turbo 2 supports up to 200 GB. Comparing RAM, the device from LG either has 2 GB or 3 GB onboard and the DROID Turbo 2 has 3 GB.

Camera

On DxOMark the 21 megapixel camera on the DROID Turbo 2 is currently listed at the #3 spot, and is considered to be better than the 13 megapixel version on the LG G Flex 2 which has OIS.

Battery

There is a 3000 mAh battery on the G Flex 2 while its competitor has a bigger 3760 mAh version which can last for two days.

Price

The DROID Turbo 2 has a price tag of $624 unlocked while the LG G Flex 2 costs $99 with a two year contract.
