The LeTV Le 1s smartphone recently made its debut just last week. Now, LeTV has announced that they had received more than 11 million pre-orders for the new smartphone. According to the Chinese company, sales for the Le 1s would amount to 12.1 billion Yuan or $1.91 billion.

The staggering sales are surprising considering that LeTV is new to the smartphone market. LeTV is a Chinese entertainment company known for providing online video content. The company is considered as the "Netflix of China."

The LeTV Le 1s is the fourth smartphone in their lineup having released the Le 1, Le 1 Pro and the Le Max earlier this year.

The LeTV Le 1s went on sale yesterday in China for 1,099 Yuan or about $173. Given its specific price point, the smartphone is impressive as it comes with high-end specs and a premium look. The device is housed in a sleek Gold all-metal body with thin side bezels. It is 7.5 mm thick and weighs 169 grams.

The Le 1s features a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with 1080 x 1920 screen resolution and 403ppi pixel density. It is powered by an octa-core 2.2 GHz MediaTek Helio X10 processor and 3 GB of RAM. It also has 32 GB of non-expandable internal storage.

The flagship device comes with a 13 MP rear camera with phase detection auto focus that can focus in just 0.09 seconds. The rear camera also comes with a single LED flash. In front, there is a 5 MP front-facing camera with an 85-degree wide angle lens.

There is also a fingerprint sensor located at the back. According to LeTV, it can recognize fingerprints in just 0.15 seconds.

The dual-SIM smartphone also comes with 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS connectivity. It is preloaded with the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS with LeTV's EUI 5.5 skin on top.

The Le 1s is backed up by a 3,000 mAh battery. The smartphone also features a USB Type-C port with fast charge technology.

LeTV has announced previously that it has plans to enter the U.S. market. In response to a query on its Facebook page, the company had this to say, "Please stay tuned ... We'll have more on our U.S. roadmap soon." Hopefully, LeTV will be able to bring the impressive Le 1s smartphone to U.S. consumers.
