'Justice League' movie rumors: John Stewart Green Lantern part of the movie

(Facebook/Green Lantern (Movie))After Ryan Reynolds' Hal Jordan "Green Lantern" movie flopped in 2011, it is said that DC will feature a John Stewart Green Lantern in "Justice League."

While many DC fans wonder why Green Lantern is not included in the upcoming "Justice League" movie, it is alleged that a member of the Green Lantern Corps will be making a cameo appearance in an important sequence in the movie after all, and it is likely to be John Stewart Green Lantern.

When DC and Warner Bros. announced the list of DC superheroes that will be featured in the highly anticipated "Justice League" movie, there is no denying that many fans jubilated that the superhero characters would finally gather for a big screen live-action movie. While the excitement further built up when a publicity photo showing Superman (Henry Cavill), Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller), and Cyborg (Rey Fisher) standing side by side was released some months ago, some fans couldn't help but wonder why the movie is devoid of Green Lantern. After all, in the animated series version of the story, Green Lantern is one of the founding members of the league.

However, according to The Wrap, "Justice League" will feature a member of the Green Lantern Corps, who will play an important role in an equally vital scene. It is unknown, though, if the said Green Lantern Corps member is Earth-bound or from another planet. After all, the Green Lantern Corps is made up of 7,202 members from the different sectors of the universe. Even if the movie will feature an Earth-bound Green Lantern, it is still difficult to tell who exactly it will be as there are three of them: Hal Jordan, who was portrayed by Ryan Reynolds in the 2011 movie, John Stewart, and Kyle Rayner.

Comic Book Movie opines, though, that it is unlikely for "Justice League" to feature a Hal Jordan Green Lantern in the movie, given that Reynold's version of the character failed big time at the box office, making only $219, 851, 172 as its worldwide gross. Furthermore, as the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) is known for its diversity, the online publication believes that it is likely for "Justice League" to feature another black character: The John Stewart Green Lantern.

Is "Justice League" really featuring a Green Lantern? If yes, will it be John Stewart?

Find out when "Justice League Part 1" arrives in theaters on Nov. 17, 2017.
