'Jurassic World 2' plot rumors, release date: Bryce Dallas Howard talks sequel's story
"Jurassic World 2" isn't due to come out until 2018, but fans of the franchise are already talking about it. And while plot details remain somewhat scarce, actress Bryce Dallas Howard has shared a little bit more about what to expect from the sequel.
It can be recalled that Howard played the role of Claire Dearing, the uptight operations manager who became famously iconic for spending the whole film running around in heels. Howard is set to reprise her role for the sequel, opposite Chris Pratt's Owen Grady. And while speaking to JoBlo, the actress revealed a new story that will be featured in the film.
"I was kind of surprised when he pitched me the story because it leads the story to a place that we've never seen before and it brings some of the most important elements from the other films and makes something with them," Howard said. "I thought that was very interesting. It's the second chapter of a trilogy so it gets the story to a place that wants you leaving more and more."
The actress also revealed that her character will be somewhat different in the sequel, especially after all of the events that transpired in the first film. "She definitely went through a lot and is permanently changed because of that. But she is also who she is," she said.
"Jurassic World 2" will pick up a considerable amount of time after the events of the first film. There have been many rumors regarding the sequel's plot, including weaponized dinosaurs being used for military purposes.
The cast of the film is also getting bigger, with Rafe Spall and Toby Jones previously reported to be in talks for parts in the sequel. However, fans will be disappointed to know that Jake Johnson, who brought life to the comical park employee Lowery, will not be reprising his role.
"Jurassic World 2" is set to premiere in theaters on June 22, 2018.
