'Jurassic World 2' rumors, plot news: Weaponized dinosaurs to fight crime?

(Facebook/JurassicPark)"Jurassic World 2" is expected to premiere on June 22, 2018.

The ending of "Jurassic World" saw Dr. Henry Wu (B.D. Wong) taking dinosaur eggs as he escaped from the theme park island. This alone was already enough to get viewers speculating about what will happen in the sequel, with most of them involving dinosaurs being weaponized in one way or another.

Some reports claim that dinosaurs will be used in the fight against drug lords. The dinosaur embryos that were stolen in the first film's ending will be raised and trained as weapons, exactly how "Jurassic World" antagonist Vic Hoskins (Vincent D'Onofrio) envisioned it. Since Hoskins died in the first film, though, it is unknown if Dr. Henry Wu will carry out the operation on his own or if he is only in it for the money and will decide to sell it to the highest bidder. The extent to which these creatures are weaponized also remains to be seen.

It was previously reported that Colin Trevorrow, who helmed the first film, wanted to leave the theme park plot behind. This has been done in previous "Jurassic" films, so repeating the same basic story will be pointless. Additionally, the general audience will grow tired of seeing the same trope over and over again, so mixing it up is a definite must.

Exploring the possibilities of dinosaurs being used in real-life situations, such as fighting in war, is going to be an exciting thing to see. And with the technology already out there, other people might also be able to genetically engineer dinosaurs of their own.

Trevorrow will not direct the sequel; instead, J.A. Bayona has been brought in to sit in the director's chair. However, that does not mean that Trevorrow will not be involved in the production of "Jurassic World 2." Trevorrow will still serve as an executive producer and co-screenwriter.

In other news, rumor has it that the film has been delayed due to issues between the two leads — Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. There has been talk that Pratt and Howard do not get along on set, which might lead to the film getting postponed. However, the claim has not been validated and no announcement of a delay has been made.

"Jurassic World 2" is expected to hit theaters on June 22, 2018.
