Jeremy Lin news: Lin struggling due to injuries

The only thing the Charlotte Hornets are waiting for right now is whether they would be enjoying home court advantage in the first round of the NBA playoffs or not.

Though they are sitting at sixth place right now (45-33), they still have a shot at making the third seed though a lot of that would depend on the final week of the regular season.

Hence, a lot will depend on how the Atlanta Hawks, Miami Heat and Boston Celtics perform in their final assignments in an expected wild finish where positioning is now in focus.

For the Hornets, trying to win all their four remaining games could boost their chances. Kemba Walker is still there to lead the charge for the starting unit but it may take more than that to get the job done.

The second unit is equally interesting and when that comes up, Jeremy Lin is the first name that pops out of the list, though he did have a poor shooting night against his former team – the New York Knicks.

Lin is dealing with bursitis on his right elbow and it is seen as something that will affect his shooting arm. Though the injury is not categorized as serious, it apparently showed in that win over the Knicks where he managed only 6 markers.

Depending on how it is being treated, Lin will be a vital cog in the team's remaining four games and the playoffs. So will head coach Steve Clifford push Lin to deliver now or save him for the postseason wars?

From the looks of it, the Hornets will go with a unit who can deliver and make it happen. Lin's playing time will likely be decided on his overall health, though he continues to impress with good games.

Lin's magic will be needed when the Hornets start their playoff run. As far as Lin is concerned, making it to the playoffs after years of frustration is an achievement in itself. But now, he needs to make sure that he is good to go as the Hornets need his help off the bench.
