Fans of the horror film "Jeepers Creepers" have waited nearly 13 years for the renewal of the franchise. Although the third installment has been confirmed, the details of the upcoming film are sparse.

The director of the franchise's first two "Jeepers Creepers" films, Victor Salva, is expected to direct the third installment. However, Salva's past crimes have been brought up as soon as he sent casting notices.

Vine report says that the bringing up of Salva's child molestation crimes might have caused a delay in the production of the film. Moreover, the report suggests that the issue could be the reason behind the silence regarding the third installment of the movie.

Nevertheless, the production company has not denied that Salva will be directing the third movie. Despite controversies surrounding the film, it looks like Salva is going to be directing the upcoming installment.

According to Game n Guide, producer Stan Spry announced that the third installment of "Jeepers Creepers" which is going to be entitled "Cathedral" will push through despite the controversies.

It is also reported that the iconic Creeper truck, which is a rusty 1941 Chevrolet Cab Over Engine Truck, will be making an appearance in the upcoming film. Moreover, the sequel will finally shed some light on the mysterious Creeper character. The news outlet reported that Director Salva previously mentioned that the third installment will give the audience answers to what the Creeper actually is, where it came from, and what it does.

If the film will dwell on the history of the creeper, could "Cathedral" be a prequel of the two "Jeepers Creepers" films? If not, flashbacks can always play a part in revealing the truth about the Creeper.

The "Jeepers Creepers" franchise started in 2001 and was followed by the second installment which was released in 2003. The third installment of "Jeepers Creepers" is expected to premiere in 2017.
