The highly anticipated September event of tech giant Apple finally concluded, but none of its iPad devices, including the iPad mini 5, were launched. However, Apple may have dropped some clues on the day of the event.

According to reports, the anticipated iPad mini 5 may have been absent on the recent Sept. 7 Apple event, and the official Apple website may have changed a few details about the iPads. Apparently, compared to the cached page before the event, the specs and pricing of a number of iPad models have changed. The most noticeable among the changes are the storage capacities for the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 4.

Both the iPad Air and the iPad mini 4 have bumped up its base internal storage to 32 GB, which means that there are no longer 16 GB units available in the Apple site. Meanwhile, the iPad Pro may have not gotten a storage change, but it received a noticeable price change. For the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, there is a $50–$100 price cut.

This may not amount to much, but it can be considered a sign that Apple is already preparing for the upcoming launch of the iPads, including the iPad mini 5.

As for its design, there have been rumors that the iPad mini 5 will get the Series 7000 aluminum casing. This is the same material used in the iPhone 6S units. The upgraded casing will make the body stiffer and lighter than its previous aluminum material. Apple may want to avoid the controversial iPhone 6 bendgate. Its overall design may just be similar to the iPad mini 4 and it may also get the same 7.9-inch Retina display. However, users may expect a Rose Gold variant this time.

As for its specs, it may get the 3D Touch feature, the A9 or M9 processing chip, may start with 32 GB base storage, and smaller yet more capable battery. However, there may be no changes in the camera department and it may also be getting rid of the headphone jack like the iPhone 7.

There are rumors that the iPad Mini 5 may come out early next year.
