The final version of the iOS 10 with all its new features will be showcased alongside the iPhone 7 soon. The public release is expected to follow a week after.

Apple is holding an event on Sept. 7, and though they did not disclose what will be revealed during the event, it is expected to showcase the new iPhone 7, the Apple Watch 2 and the new iOS 10. With this in mind, the launch of the new mobile operating system (OS) is likely to be in mid-September, PC Advisor reported.

The conclusion came from observing the reveal and launch dates of the iPhone 6s and the iOS 9. According to the report, the iOS 9 became available for download around a week after Apple's latest handset was unveiled.

Interested consumers can tune in to Apple's live stream to witness the real-time unveiling of the iOS 10. It can be accessed at Apple's website, but only those with devices that support HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) technology can do so. HLS requires mobile Safari on iOS 7.0 or later, iMac on OS X v10.8.5 or later with Safari 6.0.5 or later, or Microsoft Edge on Windows 10.

As for what updates it will bring to iOS devices, Business Insider noted a handful of big changes.

First is a new locking screen and unlocking mechanism, which has now replaced the "Slide to Unlock" feature. Users now have to click the Home button to unlock because swiping left will bring up the camera and swiping right will bring up a revamped notification screen.

Users should also be able to hide unnecessary Apple apps with iOS 10, such as Stocks, Weather, Maps and more. The upcoming OS will also introduce a host of new iMessage features.

Fans can tune in to Apple's Sept. 7 event for a more detailed look at the iOS 10 and what it has to offer.
