'Injustice 2' updates: Cheetah confirmed as a playable character, beats Wonder Woman in the trailer

(Facebook/Injustice)Cheetah is confirmed to be a playable character in "Injustice 2."

After revealing last week that Firestorm is a playable character in "Injustice 2," NetherRealm made another announcement this week, revealing that Wonder Woman's nemesis, Cheetah," is also included as another playable character in the highly anticipated game sequel.

There is no denying that "Injustice 2" is one of the most highly anticipated games for 2017. As the game draws near to its release date, NetherRealm continues to reveal the growing roster of "Injustice 2's" playable characters, Cheetah being the latest to be confirmed.

In the trailer revealing Cheetah's inclusion in "Injustice 2," there is no denying that the character is full of vicious strength.

"I long for Amazon blood," Cheetah is heard telling Wonder Woman as they come face-to-face, to which the Amazonian Warrior Princess replies, "It won't be easily obtained." As the two power women engage in their battle, Cheetah's vicious attacks prove to be too difficult for Wonder Woman to handle.

While there is no denying that Cheetah's inclusion in "Injustice 2" is a welcome to many fans of the game, it has been learned that some gamers are worried that Wonder Woman's nemesis may come with moves similar to another feline-based DC character, Catwoman, who is a returning playable character in the game sequel.

However, Screen Rant opines that, based on the released trailer, Cheetah's moves are different from those of Catwoman, although both of them use their claws to have an upper hand over their opponents. Despite this, though, the online publication can't help but point out that Cheetah's moves are simple and offer nothing new. Hence, Screen Rant fears that, because of this, Cheetah may be overshadowed by other DC characters featured in the game.

With the announcement of Cheetah as a playable character in "Injustice 2," the upcoming game sequel now boasts of 25 DC superhero and villain characters. However, as NetherRealm is expected to announce more playable characters before the game is released, the roster is set to become even bigger.

"Injustice 2" arrives this May 16 on PS4 and Xbox One.
