The health condition of "Hunter X Hunter" creator Yoshihiro Togashi has been the reason why chapter 361 is taking a long time to release. With the anticipation for the series growing, there are rumors that his wife Naoko Takeuchi will take over.

Togashi is said to be experiencing severe back pain, which hinders him from sitting down to work on the series. While his exact illness is unknown, he has said to have been advised by doctors to have a complete bed rest and to refrain from getting up. While the creators' reasons are vaild, the series' producer, Viz Media, is said to be losing due to the hiatus. The company is said to be looking for a new team to work on a new series that could replace "Hunter X Hunter."
